Freddie Johnson is an icon in the bourbon world. Whiskey enthusiasts first became aware of Freddie when he and his family's heart touching story was featured in the bourbon documentary "Neat". SSW is proud to bring this beloved bourbon legend to Dallas, TX for a once in a lifetime event filled with good food, friends, and Buffalo Trace bourbon.

The event is being held at nomadgrills.com headquarters ( 607 N Clinton Ave, Dallas, TX 75208) near the historic Bishop Arts District of Dallas 6/27/25 starting at 6:00 pm. It will be a come and go event. Nomad Grills is working with some of their vendor partners to get meat donated, so light bites will be provided. It is a bottle share, but out of respect for Freddie and Buffalo Trace we are asking that you limit the bottles you bring to Buffalo Trace products. Unlimited Topo Chico will be provided. There is a rooftop lounge that overlooks the Dallas skyline where you will be able to smoke cigars. There will be other venders (to be announced), and some will be offering cigars.

This event is a fundraiser benefiting Divine Equine Therapeutic Riding Center. The event cost is $3,000, but we are going to try to get this covered with $500 vendor sponsorships (if you know of a business that might want a table please let Randy Sullivan or Derrick Lathrop know). Tickets will be $25 per person. If we are able to cover the 3K with sponsors all of the ticket proceeds will go to DE. If not, the first $20 of each ticket will go towards the event with any shortfall being covered by Bourbon Real Talk Podcast and/or SSW. The venue says they can handle up to 3,000 attendees in a come and go event, so there will be unlimited access. This event will be advertised nationally, and many of your whiskey loving friends will be come in from out of town for this event. There will be a Saturday whiskey gathering on 6/28 hosted by SSW so that those who travelled will have more than one reason to come.

Dress code is casual. Bring your own glassware (but there will be glasses for sale at the event). We have no idea at this stage how many attendees to expect, so we will be releasing more details about the structure of the event as things develop. The venue is across the street from the Kessler Music Hall, so the surrounding area is accustomed to having large numbers of cars parked in public areas.
