It took a little tinkering but I think we landed on something he liked 
1.5oz Jameson Orange
1oz vanilla syrup (1oz simple syrup plus 1/4 tsp vanilla extract)
1.5oz orange juice
1.5oz whole milk
0.5oz cream
Add everything to a a shaker with ice and shake very well/hard. Strain into a tall Collins class with fresh ice.
If you want it like a delicious boozy melted creamsicle, leave as is. If you want it a little lighter/fizzy…top up with a little chilled club soda. Watch out it can fizz & foam over your glass.
