Cafè Nera

Cafè Nera

Shared to SSW by Kolby Howard

On this week's episode of #someonesaycocktails I picked up this Caffe Amaro on impulse and I’m starting some light R&D I came up with this recipe and thought it was worth sharing.

To honor Hemal Kikawala this shall be referred to as the Cafè Nera
Combine
1.5 Oz budget friendly Bourbon or rye I used an Old tub
0.25 Caffe Amaro (J Reiger & son is what I used but feel free to experiment)
1.0 Oz Mr black coffee Liquor
0.25 Triple sec (simple syrup with orange oil)
2 dashes of ango bitters
2 dashes Black walnut bitters
2 dashes of orange bitters
2 drops 20% liquid saline (20% salt water)
Stir for 20 revolutions (see comments) in a large mixing vessel and strain into a rocks glass over a large cube optional garnish with an expressed orange peel (optional)
Overall I like this a lot, finishes dark and bitter with a slight citrus pop great base that I will be fine-tuning, suggested pairing it with sweet brunches or side by side with morning coffee … Cheers SSW!
