Alright SSW you have asked for more cocktail content and more cocktail content you will receive! On tonight’s #someonesaycocktails I’ll teach you a quick & easy coffee infusion for any shelf bourbon or rye.
For this recipe I wanted to save as much of my base spirit as I can, so I made a micro batch. I used the truly amazing SSW Maple Finished Taconic.
For the infusion you’ll need
Combine in a sealed glass container and let set
I highly recommend trying the infusion every few hours to ensure the coffee doesn’t make the whiskey to bitter, some of the ethanol alcohol molecules present can cause and over extraction of the bitterness that’s in coffee.
For me I let mine set for 6-7 hours when I tasted it I loved how the coffee and maple married together with the whiskey still very present.
Now that you have your spirit you’ll need a way to consume. Here’s 2 terrific cocktail recipes I’m admittedly biased here I did conceptualize and R&D these for y’all.
Stay tuned for next week where I show you a 3rd recipe for this infusion aimed that the ladies of SSW. (We’re gonna replace the espresso martini) with something far more fun.
3.0 Oz Coffee infused Taconic Maple
1.25 Oz Cantera Negra (agave-based coffee Liqour) that I’m crazy about.
2 drops (20% saline)
2 dashes black walnut bitters
2 dashes Regan’s Orange bitters
Combine all ingredients in a mixing vessel fill with ice, and stir (20 revolutions)
Strain over large-format ice
garnish with an expressed orange peel
Okay, I promised multiple cocktails with this infusion! For an unprecedented 2nd cocktail in the SAME #someonesaycocktails
Cocktail number 2 was inspired by the Dude himself the big Lebowski. That’s right we’re gonna riff on the White Russian, replacing vodka because it is literally pointless. (This will seem repetitive but that’s intentional. I want this to be easily repeated by the SSW home mixologist)

Float with 1 Oz of heavy cream for a Dude approved coffee-infused Maple finished bourbon riff on a White Russian! Cheers SSW!
